Reflected Correction
The reflected apparent temperature (RAT or Trefl) is the component of infrared energy that is reflected by the target object. Because this energy is not emitted by the target itself, it must be accounted for to make accurate temperature readings.
Usually mid-level and professional cameras offer the ability to adjust for Trefl. but entry level cameras usually do not.
